Q. Andrew Martin, you know Mother’s Day is coming up. What book are you getting her on Sunday?
A. I’m thinking a coffee table book.
Q. On what, coffee tables?
A. Hmm. (look of deep pontification) Tropical Places.
Q. Do you like to travel with your mom to tropical places?
A. Why yes, I do.
Q. Any favorites?
A. We went to Hawaii, and my dad came too. But it was really a mother/son trip. But we’ve also been to a lot of deserts.
Q. What do you like best about our library?
A. About this library? Um, Ms. Tong. But seriously, the amount of cubby space is great.
Q. What are you currently reading?
A. When Elephants Weep. It’s changed my life.
